Feel free to ask us any questions you may have as you get to know us.
What do you offer?
We offer sterile injection, safer smoking and wound care supplies, syringe disposal, overdose reversal training and naloxone (also known as Narcan), fentanyl test strips, peer support, and referrals.
We collaborate with the Milwaukee Freedom Fund to support people who are incarcerated and in need of bail.
At our harm reduction building, we have safe space to hang out, harm reduction supplies, a shower, fully-stocked kitchen, overdose prevention resources and materials, clothing and hygiene supplies, plus peer support workers who offer non-judgemental support for people who are using drugs, friends and family.
Who can access services from Bad River Harm Reduction?
Access to our services is not limited to tribal members or any criteria other than need; we strive to serve everyone who we can reasonably reach. Given the fact that people who use drugs are typically generous with each other and have formed community around providing access to harm reduction supplies without regard to race, gender or political status, it makes sense for us to mirror this approach. Furthermore, we believe that living within an environment of public wellness and solidarity strengthens tribal communities and supports tribal sovereignty.
Where are you located and how far can you travel to meet me?
We are based on the Bad River Reservation and are available to meet with people who use drugs in Ashland, Bayfield, Price and Iron Counties in northern Wisconsin.
Can I get supplies if I live a great distance from Bad River?
We ship naloxone and harm reduction supplies to individuals throughout the State of Wisconsin through our partnership with NextDistro. If you are interested in receiving a package, visit Nextdistro.org/wisconsin.
